As a flutist, I am drawn to collaborative models that emphasize creative agency and develop mutual understanding between performers and composers. As a researcher, I work at the intersection of pedagogy and interface design, and seek to understand how good design practices can transform our experiences. As an educator, I am committed to teaching models in which the individual’s own experience is centered, and am comfortable with a wide range of student backgrounds.

My performance practice focuses on late 20th/21st century acoustic and electroacoustic music for piccolo, flute, alto flute, and bass flute. My audio research project PrismaSonus documents electroacoustic flute techniques.

I am currently a Doctoral Candidate in Contemporary Music Performance at UC San Diego, and am a Miyazawa Emerging Artist. Learn more.
